It started because I asked her to show me the process she uses to buy her internet bundle. She asked me why I was doing this, going up and beyond for her. That is how she is. She doesn’t like to be pampered and doesn’t want any helping hand or gifts. She may think you are doing too much. I told her, “I like you. I want more than this,” and proceeded to ask if, at any point in her life, she thought she could ever accept me, because she had said she wanted us to be friends for now.

I didn’t expect her to be this truthful with me when she started pouring it all out. She gave me three reasons why she is keeping herself from going further with me.

  1. The age. She is 31, I am 30.
  2. My mum is from Ada.
  3. She is the breadwinner of her family and doesn’t want to offload that burden onto me.

I understand the first and third points, but the second one, I don’t understand at all. Her ex was from Ada. She had a terrible experience with him, and they broke up this February.

I don’t think it has anything to do with me. We are different people. My person shouldn’t be tied to my tribe. Besides, it is my mum who is from Ada, not my dad. I was raised and brought up differently.

We are still friends, and I’m not rushing her. She said she will pray about it.

This is not my first time trying to date a woman, but I say with all honesty that what I feel for her is not ordinary. It is out of this world. I would love for her to have me. The things I reluctantly did for my ex, I did for her because I wanted to.

I don’t know what the outcome will be. Should I wait for her, or just delete her number and try to move on?

Before I go, men from Ada, what are you people doing to the women?
