I don’t understand. I will never understand what men of God mean when they say they want a God-fearing woman, yet when it comes to matters of the flesh, they are the first to disagree with you when you want to wait until marriage. Then they try to separate their calling from the pleasures of the body. “Body no be firewood” They argue with you and even frustrate you to the point where you begin to ask yourself, “Is this really the man who shouts and screams in tongues? Is he really the same person, or are there two of them?”

When these men say they want a God-fearing woman, what do they really mean? Do they even understand what they are asking for? Do they?

Why am I asking?

Over the years, my relationships have failed because of this. Even during the talking stage, the moment we have that conversation and I make my position clear, it often marks the end of whatever we were building, even with men of God. I’ve been wondering if there are still men who are willing to wait these days. Including church brothers too, hmmm.

The most recent one happened just a few weeks ago. My heart is still healing from what happened. How far we had come, only for him to allow the pleasures of the flesh to distract him.

Men of God, sons of the Most High, I have a genuine question for you. When you pray to God and ask Him for a woman of God to do life with, what exactly do you mean? What picture do you have in your mind? A woman of God who is also a baddie? Is that what you mean?

Do you truly understand what you are asking for when you say you want a woman of God? Because sometimes it feels like many of you don’t. If what you really want is something else, then ask for that. Be honest with yourselves and with the women you pursue. Stop going around in circles, saying one thing while expecting another. Ask for what you want, and go after what you truly want.
