We met in 2019 when I was in my final year of nursing school and awaiting posting. At the time, I was a very hungry man, and I was living on her benevolence until I got posted to a hospital in 2020. I was happy to finally have something doing for myself, but even after I was posted, my salary did not come for a whole year. So, I continued depending on her. She bought me food, gave me money for transportation, and even visited me regularly to prepare different meals for me.
When my back pay finally arrived, I gifted her GH₵6,000. She gave the money to her uncle, even though it was supposed to help her get into the Immigration Service. However, it was a gift, so I really couldn’t complain about what she decided to do with the money.

I put her on a monthly allowance and increased it after she complained that it was too small. I fell seriously ill in 2025, just around the time I was hoping to further my education. She came around on the first day and stayed for a few hours before leaving. She did not return until I was discharged from the hospital.
A month later, she picked a fight with me because I didn’t call her intermittently to speak with her. Meanwhile, when we spoke earlier that day, she had told me she was going out with her mother. I apologised immediately, but she kept giving me attitude. She was supposed to write her final examinations, so I decided to keep my cool until she was done. She finished writing her exams but was still bitter about what had happened.
We didn’t talk for two months because, for once, I also decided that I wasn’t going to play the fool. She resurfaced and went about telling everyone, including my sister, that we had broken up. When she was in nursing school, I was the one who provided most of her support. But she told my sister otherwise. “You people shouldn’t think it is because of your brother that I am where I am today.”
She also called a colleague of mine at work and asked him to pass this message to me: “I have richer and better men chasing after me, but I chose to stay with him.”
I got the message but didn’t reach out to her. So, she called to apologise, but I told her I didn’t want the relationship anymore. I thought that was it until she came to my workplace and threatened to kill herself and kill me if I ended the relationship. All this was because she had seen a lady’s number on my phone saved with an emoji similar to the one I used for her.
She got my mother and sister involved and told them she would kill herself and that my hands would be stained with her blood if I broke up with her.
In our six years of dating, we have had five abortions, and there was not a single one that she paid for. I paid for all of them and was always there to take care of her throughout those difficult periods.
One day, she called me and said that because of the abortions, she was being hunted spiritually, so I should give her money to go and cleanse herself. I initially sent her GH₵1,000, but she said it wasn’t enough. She calculated everything and sent me a list amounting to GH₵2,200.
I paid for it, but she still didn’t want to let me go. Another day, she showed up at my workplace again and took GH₵1,600 from my bag. My colleagues said they saw her. When I called her, she confirmed it.
My problem is this: During Ramadan, she called, and this time, she was very calm. She asked me to rethink the breakup. Honestly, because of the disgrace she put me through, I gave her some conditions to meet before I could consider dating her again. My conditions were that she should apologise to my elder sister and make an effort to win her love and trust again. She should also apologise to the people at my workplace for the scene she caused.
She and my sister have buried the hatchet, but my sister has called to make her position clear on the matter: “I will not allow you to date her. If you go back to her and anything happens to you, count me out of it.”
What Caused The Breakup Between You And Your Ex?
As things stand now, I have mixed feelings about this lady. I cannot confidently say whether I still love her or not. I also don’t know whether I should beg my sister on her behalf or simply let her go. The truth is that she has been calling me every day, apologising and asking me to give the relationship another chance. I am beginning to feel sorry for her, and that is making it difficult for me to decide what to do.
I don’t know whether I should listen to my sister and move on or give this woman another chance.

You are a nurse so chances of you getting a job any where in the world are very high. Even if you don’t want to leave Ghana you can always get a job from where you live change your number and everything in between… Sometimes your peace of mind is more important than threats and if you think she can harm you spiritually start by giving your life to christ
I’m even tired emotionally after reading. Hmmmmm. This is too messy Daniel. Six good abortions? What happened to protection or family planning? Considering the fact that you are a nurse.
A lady who has aborted 5 times for you, you’re still considering to marrying her, because of her shenanigans.
She emotionally attached to you and the only way to break free is to disappear from the locality and disconnect all connections with her.
You’re a nurse nau avoid the issues of pregnancies when you’re not ready to father a child.
You deserve each other. After five abortions, who are you leaving her for? Stay together and manage whatever may happen as a result of your recklessness.
