I was very surprised. This is someone I haven’t spoken to since our break-up. When I saw her call, I wondered which side of my bed I had slept on. Little did I know it was the wrong side.

Even though I knew in my heart that I hadn’t done anything to harm her, the anger with which she spoke got me a bit scared. When I asked why she was insulting me, she went on to rain curses on me.

She accused me of impregnating her when we were together and she had to get rid of it. “That thing is causing me life-threatening health problems,” she screamed.

Our relationship ended nine years ago. There was never a time when we were together that she spoke of a pregnancy. I honestly didn’t even know she went through an “abɔshin”.

How am I to blame for a pregnancy she never told me existed, let alone the health issues she is facing after she took care of it without my knowledge?

I don’t want to be insensitive to her plight but I know I am not the cause of her situation. Should I be worried that her curses will come to pass? I don’t want my life to be ruined by someone else’s choices.
