I’m 23 years old and in my final year at university. I’m dating a 25-year-old man. He is a very good friend of mine turned lover. Mide is God-fearing, loyal to me, and everything he does shows how much he loves me. Whenever he has money, he gives me some without me asking, and he always goes out of his way to support me in whatever way he can.

He recently completed his National Youth Service after graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Right now, he still lives with his parents, although he has plans to move out later this year. He believes the money he’s making from tech and a few other things will eventually become enough for him to live comfortably, and honestly, his plans sound realistic and achievable.

As things stand, he has almost everything a woman would want in a man. He’s caring, intentional, faithful, and serious about our relationship. The only thing he doesn’t have yet is money.

This is where my confusion comes in.

There are quite a number of big rich men asking me out. I don’t believe in double dating, so I have never entertained any of them, but I would be lying if I said I don’t wonder whether I made the right decision by choosing my boyfriend.

I keep asking myself if I’m making the right choice by waiting for him to become established. I don’t want to stay committed to one person for years only to look back someday and regret missing other opportunities. At the same time, I know he loves me.

He’s very serious about me, and I can see that in his actions.

My biggest fear is his age. Sometimes I wonder if 25 is too young for a man to truly know what he wants when it comes to love and marriage. Can someone his age genuinely decide that he wants to spend the rest of his life with one person and still stand by that decision years later?

Should I ignore every other distraction and continue building a future with him, or am I being too optimistic in believing that love and potential will be enough?
