I saw her going to repairers often and coming back with the same story: “They couldn’t fix it properly.”

She had used the phone for over five years, so I planned to get her a new one. She had always wanted an iPhone, so I put a little money together and got her a used iPhone 11.

I called her after work and told her I had gotten her a new phone, so she should come for it the next morning. She was overly excited and couldn’t wait for the morning to come. She came that same evening to collect the phone.

When she saw it, she was like, “Oh, it’s not in a box?”

She collected it, inspected it keenly and said, “I thought you said a new phone. This is second-hand.”

I asked, “So you don’t like it?”

She answered, “It’s not even three cameras and it’s old.”

I took it and said I would go and change it for her.

She saw the look on my face and knew I wasn’t actually going to change it, so she asked me to give it to her.

“I’ll use it like that,” she said.

I insisted I was going to change it for her.

Please, I’m selling a used iPhone 11. It comes with the charging cord and has no scratches. I need to invest my money somewhere else.

She’s back to using her faulty phone while I’ve learned not to interfere in other people’s problems. Sometimes, people deserve whatever they are going through.
