I bought her a bag, a pair of shoes, and some bangles as a gift. I ordered everything through a vendor who imports items from China. I joined the vendor’s group, went through their catalogue until I found the items I thought she’d love, paid for them, and then waited for almost two months for them to arrive in Ghana before I finally gave them to Baby Yaa.
The day I gave them to her, her smile stretched all the way to her eyes. She was so excited that she jumped up and down while hugging the gifts tightly. Seeing her that happy made the wait and the money feel worth it.

But there’s something that has been bothering me.
This wasn’t the first time I had bought her a gift. More than once, I’ve gone out of my way to surprise her with something thoughtful, but she has never called or even sent me a text afterwards to simply say, “Thank you.”
So I want an honest opinion.
If you repeatedly buy gifts for your partner and they never call or even send a message to appreciate you, would you still believe they value your effort? Would you keep buying them gifts, or would you eventually stop?
I don’t really want to make this about my relationship because if I do, it might seem like I’m complaining about everything. I’m just genuinely hurt because I believe appreciation encourages people to keep giving. A simple “thank you” costs nothing, yet it can mean everything to the person who took the time, spent the money, and put thought into making you happy.

Bro I had a girlfriend who was like that and wanted to leave her but I realized some people don’t know how to do it so just tell her and teach her how to do it. Always remember that we are different.
I second Richie
But how do u teach a grown up adult her to say thank you when it’s an instant thing to do when u are gifted or given something, abi she does get anything in life that warrants her to say thank you to the giver I mean at work ?? Well y’all be meeting ungrateful creatures.. Bcus the second someone does something for me no matter how little I would fill ur ears with thank you until u tell me to stop..
