I had just returned from work when my then-girlfriend called, asking me to come spend the night.

I told her I wasn’t sure plus, I had work the next morning. But after the call, I changed my mind. Partly because I had no food at home, and also, she had sounded hurt. I didn’t tell her I was coming though. I wanted to surprise her.

She lived in an estate. If you weren’t driving, you had to take a shuttle from the bus stop, then walk quite a distance to her house. Soon, I was in one of those shuttles, heading there. On the way, she kept calling. I didn’t pick up. Let me just land at her door, kiss her breathless, and show her I can be unpredictable. Women love that kind of thing, I thought.

Another guy in the bus also had his phone ringing nonstop around the same time as mine. Neither of us picked up. It was around 10:30pm.

We both dropped at the last stop. Walked quietly, side by side… until we arrived at the same door. My girlfriend’s door.

Omo, you needed to see our faces. That was when I realized she had invited both of us, and was calling to confirm who was really coming so she could cancel on the other.

Three Months After Our Breakup, He Got Married

It was almost midnight when we stomped out together. We had to beg the estate security to open the gate, and luckily for us, they did because one of them recognized me. There were no cars outside, my phone battery had died, so I trekked all the way home. I reached home around 1:45am., collapsed on my bed and didn’t wake up till the next afternoon.

Since that day, no one has been able to convince me that women don’t cheat. Some women are scum!
