Two years into our marriage, and I’ve caught him cheating twice. The first time, he was the one who took himself to counseling and also asked that our pastor pray for him to change. Because of that single act, our pastor advised me to forgive him and be prayerful because a man who runs under the wings of God after cheating is not doing it out of his own will.

I forgave him and prayed with him. He would wake up at dawn and tap me to wake up and pray with him. We did this for several months, and everything was stable. He became more loving, and it was during that time that I also got pregnant. We felt the pregnancy was God’s icing on the cake after going through so much turbulence.

I am seven months pregnant, and I’ve caught my husband cheating again. This time, the lady is not far from us. I was one of the people who begged my husband to find a place for her to do her national service where he works. It’s this same lady, our fellow church member, that my husband has been sleeping with.

Again, my husband has run to the pastor to report himself. This time, our pastor is blaming me for the cheating. He says I became complacent and stopped the intercessory prayers with my husband, which is why the devil found his way back into our marriage. All the while he was saying that, my husband sat there nodding and adding that the strength of our prayers had become weak and that he could feel it.

I’ve never been this angry in my life. My blood pressure is through the roof, and sometimes I can feel my body quivering. These two are clearly manipulating me. The painful part is that the lady also belongs to the same church, but the pastor hasn’t called her to say a word to her.

I don’t want to make any drastic decisions in my condition, but I know I don’t want to be a prayer warrior for the rest of my life. The next time it happens, they’ll probably tell me it’s because I didn’t go to Atwea Mountain to pray, and that’s why he cheated. He knows my mind. He knows I won’t be here after the baby is born, and that’s exactly what I’m going to do.
