One Thursday afternoon, I received a call from my girlfriend. She said she was horny and wanted my help. I was at work, so I told her to stay calm and promised I would pass by her place after work.

I kept my word. After work, I took a bus to her town to do what a man had to do. In the heat of the moment, I forgot to use protection. Normally, I know my girlfriend’s body well. I know how she feels and am familiar with the details. But that day, something felt off. It felt less tight than I was used to.

That made me ask her, “Did you cheat on me, Lily?” She looked shocked and said no. I asked again to be sure, but she complained, “Babe, I don’t like the way you suspect me, as if I am some sort of slut.”

On Saturday evening, she came over to spend the night. She had some items I had helped her buy for school, and she planned to take them back with her when she returned to school on Sunday.

While she was there, I opened her phone. We both know each other’s passwords, so it was easy. I went through her Meta AI chat and found a voice note. I played it, and what I heard left me stunned. She was asking when it would be safe from pregnancy after having unprotected sex and taking an emergency contraceptive pill.

That Thursday, before I arrived, another guy had been with her. They had sex without protection, and she had to take the pill afterwards. I believe it was the fear of what could happen that made her call me later.

Anything could have happened. She could get pregnant and claim I was responsible. She could contract an infection from him and pass it on to me. And the disrespect of it all cut deep. She put my health at risk without giving me the chance to make an informed decision.

After finding what I needed to silence the noise in my head, I finally understood why I had felt that something was wrong during our intimacy that Thursday. I knew it was not just in my head. It felt as though someone else had been watering my plants. I could not shake the feeling that another man had been with her, and now I had found evidence to support my suspicion.

I called her, sat her down, and showed her the evidence. I asked for an explanation, but she twisted everything and denied it, even with the proof right in front of us. I felt like I was dreaming. She did not even blink while denying what I had discovered.

What hurt me most was not just the cheating. It was the fact that she had been with another man without protection, then came to me and did the same thing without telling me. I was left worrying about the possible consequences of the choices of a woman who had decided to be careless and unfaithful.

Deep down, if she had told me the truth, I might have tried to forgive her so we could continue building what we had. But with the way she handled everything, I do not think that is possible anymore. I needed honesty from her, even if the truth would have broken my heart. Instead, she made it even harder for me to imagine trusting her again.

We finished arguing, and then she packed her bags, called the very guy she had cheated with, and asked him to order a Bolt for her so she could leave.

When she left, I noticed she had packed all her belongings, including her hairbrush, spare toothpaste, and bonnet. It was as if she had already decided she was not coming back. And honestly, I do not think there is any coming back from this.

Three years have gone down the drain, and I am very hurt. I keep thinking about the time, love, and trust I invested in this relationship. I never imagined things would end this way, with me discovering the truth through her phone, of all places, in an AI chat history. The thought of starting over after giving someone three years of my life is painful.

I am sharing this story because my heart is heavy. Sometimes, putting your pain into words is the only way to release some of what you are carrying inside.
