I have been talking to Robert, a white man who lives in Illinois, USA, for some time now. I met him on Tinder because I was hoping to find love. Our conversations started with us talking about life in Ghana and life in the USA, but as time went on, it turned into something else, like friends, like lovers, something like that.

One day, I asked him for money to buy a wig, and he sent it to me. If I didn’t love him before that, then I started to fall in love with him then. It usually used to be texts, voice notes, sometimes pictures, but then we progressed to more talking over text, and video calls too. A couple of times, I went to bed and even had a dream that I married him.

Another day, while we were on a call, we made an agreement. “Every month, you send me 2,000 Ghana cedis,” I said. He also told me, “You will also have to send me your nudes in exchange.”

I agreed.

Even though we had made the agreement, I honestly didn’t think he would actually send the money. So, imagine how happy I was when, on July 2, he fulfilled his promise.

I quickly went to the comfort of my bedroom, set up my phone on a stand, and fulfilled my part of the agreement with him.

Last month, in July, I asked him to send me some data. He said the month wasn’t over yet for our agreement, so I should wait. I didn’t have a problem waiting until the month ended, and I still didn’t hear from him. On August 2, I texted him, no response. I called him and left several messages, but he still didn’t answer.

It threw me into a frenzy because I needed the money, and more than anything, I needed to hear from him.

So, I did the next thing I could think of. I went on YouTube to search for spiritual directions and followed a couple of the videos I found.

I wrote his name on a piece of paper and wrote down the amount of money I needed from him. I put the paper in a rubber bag with a coin and some salt, tied it up, and placed it under my pillow so I could sleep on it.

But Robert still didn’t text me.

Recently, I realised that I have been blocked.

I am heartbroken and so sad because I love him so much. I don’t have anyone else to help me. I believed he was the helper God had given me, and now I feel like the devil has taken him away from me.

As I write this, there is only GH₵30 in my account.

What should I do?
