When he said he loved me, I thought about two things and decided to give him a chance. I thought about the fact that we were in the same church and also the fact that he had his life figured out. After a week or so, I gave him the answer that he needed, that I was going to be his girlfriend. He asked me to come to his place so we would celebrate it, which I didn’t think twice about.

The next day I was in his house. He gave me wine and I told him I didn’t know how to drink it. He was surprised that I didn’t know. I told him I wasn’t raised close to alcohol so he shouldn’t be surprised.

He tried to kiss me and it lasted for a few seconds before I pulled away. He asked why and I told him it was too soon. He asked when it wouldn’t be so soon and I told him he should give time some time for us to build a great foundation. He asked about intimacy and I said, “I wouldn’t do it until marriage.”

He asked if I’d done it before and I shook my head. He screamed, “Seriously? You’ve never seen a man? Then what are you coming to do in this relationship?”

I thought he was joking. He told me he had withdrawn his proposal so I should go out there and gather experience and come back. I was so shocked I didn’t know what to say. I thought it was a joke but he insisted, “Honestly, I don’t have the courage to break a woman. I’d rather you come experienced.”

So the relationship we had lasted for only one day. I accepted today and the next day we were over. We are in the same church and he tries to talk to me when we meet. I ignore him and change my route because I don’t want to have anything to do with a man who doesn’t appreciate what I’m saving for our future.

I felt disrespected, as if I’d wasted my time reserving what I had in purity and with good intentions. But my question is, do men today no longer fancy a woman who is green? A woman who hasn’t been touched or desecrated? They no longer want that?
