I would ask about his wife and kids and he would gleefully answer, “Oh they are doing very well. I haven’t seen them in weeks but they are cheerful when we talk.”
So I got to know he wasn’t living with his wife. He came to my place to visit. Sometimes he would give me money to make meals for him. And then he proposed.
“I thought you loved your family. What are you going to do with me?” I asked him. He answered, “I want to be honest with you, all I want from you is a cuddle and nothing more.”

One night we spent the night together and that was all he did, my head on his chest and his hand around me as we slept.
