We dated for two years, then she got admission into the university to study. I was happy for her, and she was overjoyed. Her dreams were coming to pass. What was more beautiful than that?

My friends thought I was crazy to be happy for a girl who was going to the university to see fine and better men that she would eventually leave me for. I didn’t see it like that. This is how I saw it. The woman of my dreams, whom I was going to marry one way or the other, was doing everything possible to become a better version of herself.
I listened when they preached about how bad the idea was, but I never for once took it into consideration.
If it was a bet, my friends would have made a ton of money out of me because while I believed that we were still going on strong and healthy, she was accommodating other men into her life and doing what pleased her.
I am not very active on social media. I don’t really understand what goes on on that side, so I avoid the place as much as possible. And she knew this. That was where she was flaunting her new relationship. I found out because a mutual person who knew about our relationship sent me the videos.
I just broke up with her.
Now, prior to me finding out about her new boyfriend, my mobile money (MoMo) PIN was compromised, and fraudsters kept attempting to access my account. I was afraid I could lose my savings. Fearing that, I transferred GHS 18,000 to her for safekeeping, with the understanding that she would return it to me once I got time to go to the office to ensure my account was secured.
It took some time, but after my account was restored, I contacted her to retrieve my money. At first, the conversation seemed like a joke. She asked me what I wanted my money for. Isn’t it money again? I needed to put two and two together.
The next time I reached her, her mother was in the background, adding fuel to the fire, saying that if I came anywhere close to her and her daughter, it wouldn’t be easy. They even talked about unaliving me. They are going around telling their version of the story, saying the money is for them and not me, and describing me as evil amongst our mutual friends.
They have even blocked me everywhere. I don’t know how to reach them anymore unless I use a different number to contact them. Even then, when they hear my voice, they hang up the call on me. I never imagined that someone I trusted enough to keep my savings would become someone I was afraid to contact.
My mom is seriously ill in the hospital. Doctors say there is something wrong with her breast, and she has to get it operated on before it turns cancerous and life-threatening.
That money was saved to help pay for her surgery. Today, my mother is critically ill, and I feel helpless because the money I worked hard to save is being withheld. They don’t want to return it. I don’t think they even have plans of returning it. They promise that if I try to take action, they will hurt me.
I am very confused about my next steps. I have no energy left. I am emotionally exhausted and don’t know what else to do. I didn’t think she was this selfish to do this to me. It’s not that I need the money for my own gain. It is my mother’s life we are talking about here, and she is playing “chacha” with it like this.
Her mother, who is supposed to be counselling her, has joined her in this. The apple doesn’t really fall far from the tree, I guess.
Is There A Man Out There Who Doesn’t Cheat?
I need guidance on the best legal or practical steps I can take to recover my money so I can help save my mother’s life. I also want to know how I can protect myself from the threats they have made while trying to get back what belongs to me.

This is exactly what happens when you date broke girls from broke families.
Some people are broke but have integrity.
But what happened to going to open an account in the bank. It doesn’t take much. Money brings out the true character in people. Most importantly, some parents have stopped parenting because I don’t understand the mother too.
Last but not the least, why are you afraid of them?
First thing is first. Get a loan and arrange for the installments paid as soon as possible because your mother’s life is on the line.
Second, get into battle the Lord’s way by praying and and get closer to God not because of this situation only, but to keep you and being you peace of mind. Leave those two people. Let the Lord fight for you.

How could you give your entire savings to a ‘girlfriend’ for safekeeping? I really doubt if they still have it or if the amount is complete. For legal recourse, hope you have the record of transfer to her account with appropriate narration? Truth is they see you as weak and you’re proving them right.
Hm, my brother, let me tell you the bitter truth, you can’t retrieve your money from your girlfriend. Never. Kindly take a loan and pay your mom’s bills. You see that money, forget it and be wise next time
