I am a very beautiful and stunning lady. That’s what people tell me. When I step out of the house, I could get about twenty people complimenting my beauty. And my mirror also tells me I am easy on the eyes. However, I never let it get to my head. I kept myself focused on my books. I told myself I would like to be a big woman in future. And the way to get there was through my schoolwork. So I studied hard and completed high school with good grades.

The program was a distant one so I only attended weekend lectures. My very first class was a geography lecture. The lecturer liked me instantly. The fact that I had read ahead of the class and answered all the questions he asked promptly and correctly impressed him. Beyond my intelligence, he also admired the way I looked. He kept telling me, “Edwina, you are beautiful.” I was the course rep so he gave me his contact.

We spoke and texted very often. Sometimes we even texted when it wasn’t about class or lectures. We delved into each other’s lives. “Tell me about my family,” he asked. I told him about my folks. He also told me about his family. He is married with kids. But that didn’t stop me from catching feelings for him. He also started having feelings for me. He proposed that we have a sexual relationship and I agreed. I told myself I was in love, so it was alright.

On Christmas Eve that year, he invited me to his home to celebrate the festivities. I honoured the invite. There, I met his kids. They were very playful and welcomed me warmly. Although I was spending time with the kids, I was a little distracted. That’s because the moment I entered the house, I met eyes with this deliciously good-looking gentleman. He eyed me, and I also eyed him back.

So while I was in my boyfriend’s family home for Christmas, I was checking out a guy who was around my age. His broad chest turned me on. The chemistry between us was sizzling. When my lecturer was introducing us he said, “Edwina meet Nana, my wife’s nephew.” We smiled sweetly at each other while we exchanged contacts.

After I left my lecturer’s place that day, Nana and I were still talking. He was fun to talk to. He was young, just like me. While I was in level 100, he was in level 200. I had so much more in common with him than I did with his aunt’s husband. So when he proposed love to me, I accepted it. Of course, he had no idea that I was also dating his uncle.

I could tell how deeply he loved me because of how much I loved him as well. Every single day that went by, we spoke. Then one day he invited me over to his hostel, and I went. During the visit, the unexpected happened. We ended up having intimacy.

Now here is the problem, I went to see Nana on a Saturday. That was when we did it. However, I went to see my lecturer boyfriend the previous night, which was a Friday. I went to his house while his wife was not at home. We did it there before I had my fun with Nana the next day.

Three months have passed since both encounters and I find myself pregnant. Which of the men do I name the father of the unborn child? Is it the man who did it first, or the one who did it second? Who do I even tell about the pregnancy first? My lecturer or Nana Ansah?

If Nana finds out that the child could belong to his aunt’s husband, won’t that be a shame? I know I am in a mess. It may look like getting rid of the pregnancy is my best bet out of this, but that option is not on the table for me. It’s against my family’s values and norms to get rid of a pregnancy. This means I am stuck with it and I would have to have the baby. How do I sort out the issue of paternity?
