My husband caught me flirting with another man. It was wrong, I know, but I was just having fun because the man in question wasn’t in Ghana. And the conversation we had didn’t go too deep, but it wasn’t the kind of conversation a woman—a married woman, for that matter—should have.

I begged him to forgive me. I explained everything and accepted my fault. I went down on my knees every night before him and before God, asking for forgiveness. “I did you wrong, I know, but this man isn’t here, so nothing happened,” I said. He retorted, “How can I trust a woman who can have such a conversation with another man? Even if it didn’t happen, it means it would have happened if he were around.”
I’m now single.
He left me without thinking twice. Our son was only four years old. To hurt me even more, he tried to take our son away from me. The only advantage I had was that he didn’t have the time to take care of him, so the court decided I was better placed to have the child.
I was divorced for talking to a man I had no intention of seeing or being with. Marriage gets lonely sometimes. You go to work in the morning and come back home to continue with domestic work. Husband would watch TV all night or stay on his phone. Going out on a date all of a sudden becomes a waste of money, so you’re always indoors—doing chores, sleeping, or tending to a baby.
So I took my talking self elsewhere, with someone I thought was ‘safe.’
You Broke Me Into Pieces: A Daughter’s Emotional Conversation With Her Father
He has brought me back to my parents. Four years ago, it all ended. I’m sharing this because of some comments I read on the story shared hours ago. Some are saying she didn’t cheat, so she shouldn’t feel guilty. Others are saying she didn’t knack him, so it’s not that bad. I was divorced for less—because emotional cheating is also cheating.
Next time you be wise
Congratulations!
Emotional cheating is cheating indeed.
Madam, whether you slept with the man or not, you cheated. It’s called micro cheating. This is how most cheating woman start. It usually start with flirting, msgs, calling, video calling and it’ll gradually shift to sexting and more. What a a lot of married women don’t know that as a man is that, we usually prey on some weak and vulnerable ladies mindset. You’ve been caught and sent packing no need mentioning you do all the chores, cooking and all why he is on his phone. Did you complain to him, did he change? You’ve learnt a big lesson, so you’ll know how to behave when God is ready to send you another man. No wonder someone said not every marriage tha hit the rock is or was caused by a man. A lot of women ruined thier marriages bcos they can’t seem to stay loyal and clean.
