My girlfriend of three years introduced me to her friend as a friend. Let me explain. She didn’t introduce me as her boyfriend. She only said, “Meet my friend, Alfred.” The lady shook my hand with a glow in her eyes.
I’m a man so I know when a lady is interested in me. I’m not talking about romantic interest but the fact that she gave all her hand, maintained gaze and glow meant she was happy to meet me. I wasn’t happy because my girlfriend of three years called me a friend.
When we left, I asked why and she said she didn’t want the introduction to be too long. “Saying a boyfriend is too long as compared to saying a friend? Is that what you mean?” She couldn’t give any concrete answer so I decided to hit on her friend. It was easier because her friend was in another town.
I started hitting on Becky, my girlfriend’s friend until she said yes to my proposal. As if the odds were in my favour, after Becky accepted my proposal, she warned me not to let my girlfriend know about it until we were very well established.
So for a year and a half, I dated Becky on the side. She loved me and was willing to do everything for me. She was two years older than me but she didn’t care. We talked about marriage when I knew I was lying to her. The sad thing was, I was angry with my girlfriend for a while but there was no way I was going to choose Becky over my girlfriend.
One day, they caught me pants down. It was funny how it happened. Becky was sitting next to my girlfriend when I walked in but I’d told Becky I was out of town so I wouldn’t meet her. The truth came out and both of them broke down crying. While Becky was apologising to my girlfriend, I was standing there emotionless not knowing what to say.
They broke up with me. I didn’t try to get any of them back. I deserved it. It was when they were out of my life that I realized I had nothing. My girlfriend provided for me. Becky too but I took their love for granted. I think about them every day. Memories of them crying that day make me miserable. I’m suffering the fate of my indiscretions but I deserved it. That’s why I don’t want to go past the suffering of their absence. I should move on but I won’t.

If I am to put all my experience and years I’ve been dating together, I’ll surely say “Women are always eager, ready, super charged and ready to tell anyone that cares to listen who they are dating” She has been your girlfriend for 3yrs but chose to introduce you as a “friend” You also has a big fault here cos why on earth would you go back to her friend for a relationship? I’m sure you’ve learned the hard.
I hope your story encourages ladies and guys as well to be upfront and transparent about their relationships. If you fail to introduce your girlfriend as such, she is fair game and don’t come crying when your friend snatches her from you!
