Last Saturday was Sophie’s birthday. She called to tell me she was planning a small party for the girls so I should come around. I went to her place and met her boyfriend Ato also there. I didn’t know the plan so both of them sat me down and gave me the plan for the night.
We met four other friends at a restaurant in town and had a mini-party. From there, the three of us went to a bar and had a lot to drink and because we were drunk, we misbehaved a lot that night. I remember everything that happened.
It was around midnight when we called it a night. I was calling an Uber when Sophie said, “It’s late. It’s not safe to be driven by a man you don’t know, looking at how drunk you are. Let’s go home.” I remember that conversation very well.
When we got home, his boyfriend opened a drink and served me. I gulped the whole thing down in one attempt. I don’t remember anything that happened after that moment. I woke up in the morning and found myself covered in a duvet in the hall. The feeling wasn’t right. I felt like my body was overworked. Not only my body, my coochie too.
There was this burning sensation going on inside there and my pants looked tempered with. I rushed to the bath to wash down. The feeling concluded my suspicion. I wasn’t sure how it happened. Did he do it all alone? If he did, where was Sophie when it was happening?”
I called Sophie out and asked, “What happened last night when we came home?” She answered, “We took the last bottle and slept.” “And then…” I asked. She answered, “And then nothing.” I told her, “Someone slept with me last night in this room. If you are not aware then he did it alone.”
She got defensive and started accusing me of hallucinating. She even touched my forehead and told me I was having a hangover. I was like, “Girl, I started drinking way before you, and I remember everything that happened last night to the point where he gave me something more to drink. What’s going on?”
She got angry and even invited Ato to come and listen to what I was saying. The guy swore heaven and earth that nothing of that sort happened. “I don’t even remember the time I slept,” he said. Sophie added, “Clearly you had a bad dream. How can he do that to you while I was around? Are you listening to yourself?”
She who feels it knows it. I know I was violated and I don’t want to let things go. While Sophie is angry and badmouthing me to other friends, Ato calls to ask if I’m alright and if I’ve seen a doctor and all those guilty talks.
Can I take legal action? If I can, what is the process? This happened just last weekend, 25th and 26th August.

So sorry dear. That’s really terrible.
Going to the hospital and telling them what happened is the first step.
Then they’ll likely help with the necessary treatments and tests and recovery of semen from your vagina (for DNA testing).
Then, they should guide you on the process of filing a police report. The police would need that semen and compare with the boy’s DNA to help confirm that he penetrated you. It’ll be very helpful in proving your case in court.
I wish you all the best as you seek justice.
And more importantly, you’ll need God for guidance for future engagements with people.
God’s grace sis
Yes, you can take legal action but firstly, you need to confirm there was a penetration from the hospital.
Follow everything Ifeanya had suggested and you’ll get justice.
That is if the guy didn’t use condoms otherwise, the hospital won’t get any seven in her
So sorry, how I wish I know you personal to assist you, but all the same you can take a legal action against him but mind you it’s not going to be easy proving your case in court so make sure you gather enough evidence before you start the process plus it takes time and some money involved to achieve your aim and should he win the case he can also sue you for defamation of character and that’s why you will need an expert to council you on this before making a move. Better still you can try convincing him to confess if indeed he is the one.
