The first day he got my number, he sent me Momo and said, “As a gentleman as I am, I should have driven you to your place but I couldn’t, so use this for Uber.”

Awww, my head swelled and my heart started beating bum bum in what felt like affection. It didn’t stop there. He sent Momo for lunch. He sent Momo for me to get an Uber for our first date. Even though what he gave me could have brought me back, he paid for my return trip too.

So I kept shouting in my room that night, “Intentional man! Who’ll get?”

When he proposed, I said yes because why not? We’ve been dating for four months now and this guy owes me money he’s pretending he’s forgotten. He bought something and made me pay because he said his wallet was in the car. That day we didn’t go out with his car.

That aside, he has stopped sending me money. Since I said yes to his proposal, nothing comes from his end but he uses strategy to get from me without paying back.

It’s been only four months but I’ve bought pre-paid [credit] for him, I’ve bought foodstuff – he himself sent a list of items. He doesn’t pay back so I’ve started giving him excuses whenever he asks me to do something for him with my money.

The whole relationship has become some way. It’s no longer fun so I’ve started thinking about my exit plan. But something a friend told me has made me think twice about leaving him. She said, “What if he’s testing you? Maybe he wants to know if you can help when he’s no longer able.”

Hmmm, if this is a test he better come off it because I’m gradually failing. What is this?
