My girlfriend is very competitive. She doesn’t mind doing anything just to get ahead in life. I love that about her, but there’s a catch, and the catch is in the “anything.”

We’ve dated for two years, and in these two years, I’ve seen her grow in every direction, even in her Christian life. She has been promoted twice, and twice we’ve had a party. I also have what I’m doing that ensures I’m able to keep up with her ambition.

Not long ago, we talked about marriage again. A year ago, we did, and we couldn’t agree on when to get married. She said she had other things to achieve, and I agreed. After her second promotion, I realised she talked about marriage a lot, so we decided to get married early next year.

And then I discovered something that’s making me think twice about marrying her. For her first promotion, she had to offer herself to a higher boss before she got the promotion. At that time, our relationship had just started, and we were not even sure where we were taking it.

I read it from a chat she had with her close friend. They were talking about all the things they’ve been through. Her friend was also no different. She had done even crazier things. I haven’t asked her about it. I only got the name of that boss and asked if he was still working in the same office with her, and she said yes.

It makes me wonder if she’s still sleeping with him. Also, I’m scared to think of what she did to get the second promotion. To be honest, I can forgive what she did to get the first promotion. It’s not easy, but I can just decide that we were not dating strongly when it happened. But reading what I read and all the things they had done makes me scared.

What can she do again to get a promotion, and what did she do to get the second one? I’m not doubting her competence. She has it in abundance, and that makes it even more weird that she would do that and not rely on her competence.

Currently, I’m thinking twice about it. As I said, she has everything going for her, and since we started dating, she hasn’t put a foot wrong. I’ve loved her deeply until I got to know this truth about her.

The question I’m asking here is this: Should I go ahead with it, or should I slow down? Should I ask about it without fear of ruining the relationship? What would you do in my shoes?
