That very day I met Ekua on the bus, we started a conversation I did not want to end. I took her number so we could continue talking and see where it would take us. That was in 2019. Sometimes, I wish God had never allowed that meeting to happen.
After a few days of talking to her, I learnt that she was divorced. I asked her what happened, and she told me:
“My husband changed after we got married. Everything I did irritated him. I thought he would change, but nothing happened. There was no change. He spoke to me like a child. He was mistreating me. One day, I could not take it anymore, so I packed my bags and left home. I didn’t want to die there.”

I felt pity for her. What man in his right mind would treat a woman like her that way? Days turned into months, and I fell head over heels in love with her. I wanted to hear her voice before the day started and as soon as the day ended. My world slowly started revolving around her.
I said to myself, “Finally, God has brought me my bone of my bone.”
We dated, and the relationship lasted for close to seven months before she called me one day and told me that her family had resolved the issues between her and her husband, so she was returning home. That marriage was not something you could just end because of problems, she told me. I begged her not to go. Once again, she brought up the fact that her husband had also been begging her to return home. According to her, he had changed.
In the end, she chose him over me. My heart was broken. In the days and weeks after she broke up with me, life did not make sense.
But here I am today. I am over her, but somehow, I am still not over her.
Here is why.
On February 10, 2026, seven years after I first dated Ekua, she called me and asked me to call her husband and apologise to him. Why? Because I dated his wife. I didn’t want to do it. It was more than five years later. Why now? Plus, she told me they were divorced. She called every day, pestering me to call him. So I called.
The man was so angry when I introduced myself. He gave me two options. Either he would kill me, or I would pay him money to pacify him, what he called “mpata de3.”
He was very serious. He even said that I would not be the first person he had unalived because the person had something to do with his wife. The truth about the alleged cheating was that the man was his wife’s ex-boyfriend before she married him. From what Ekua told me, after the marriage, she went back to her ex because her husband did not take good care of her and their twins. So when the husband discovered that his wife was dating her ex, he allegedly used black magic against the man. In his own words, “That man slept and never woke up again.”
“If you dare me, you will end up like him. You try me,” he warned me.
He initially demanded GH¢10,000 from me. I told him I didn’t have it. I had lost my job and just gotten into another one. I haven’t even been working for too long, so I could not afford such a huge amount. “I can only give you GH¢5,000.”
It was as if I had poured kerosene into fire. Come and see how he wanted to explode. Even on the phone, I could feel it. Shouting and screaming, “What will 5,000 cedis do for me, eh? My wife’s phone is even 5,000 Ghana cedis. What will that money do to appease my soul?”
But something did not add up. The first day Ekua wanted to send me her husband’s number so I could call him, I asked her to send the contact through WhatsApp. She herself said that she didn’t use a smartphone, so how come her husband was saying otherwise?
Was he just bluffing? He now said that he would take GH¢200,000 instead. He asked me to call him when I was ready so he could give me his account number and I could deposit the money into his bank account. I didn’t call him, but I sent him an SMS to apologise and begged him to give me some time to find a loan and pay him the initial GH¢10,000.
He did not respond to the message.
Then, in May, he called me to ask what was going on because he had not heard from me. I replied, “You said I should not call until I get the money, and I haven’t got it yet.” All this while, I was still begging.
About two weeks ago, Ekua called me, pleading with me to send her husband the money because her marriage is now in my hands. The husband has been fighting with her and demanding that she take his money from me. He even threatened to throw her out of the house if she did not get the money from me.
As I speak, I do not even have GH¢5,000 to make a part payment.
Who Would You Choose, A Rich Man Or A Man Who’s Good In Bed?
I have been moving up and down trying to find a way out, but there seems to be no hope. Then, just three days ago, Ekua called me again only to tell me that her husband has finally broken the news of the adultery to both families. The family will call for a meeting to proceed with the matter.
Friends, this is my situation. I am in a serious dilemma and I need help. I need money to sort this man out. Otherwise, if this matter escalates, my church, my wife, our families, and even social media could get involved, it will disturb me. I honestly do not know what to do.

I haven’t heard this before o. You dating a married woman was wrong but what kind of demand is this? The woman is equally guilty so what is her penance? Block them. I hope they don’t know where you live.
They are simply blackmailing you. Do not let fear of death cause you to fall to their tricks. Block them and goo to sleep. Nothing will happen to you. She probably lied to you many years ago. You do not owe them any compensation. If he has the power to unalive someone, he should use that power to make money.
I dont understand ooh. They were divorced when you met her so what is this pacify her husband thing? Masa, they are playing you. If truly she told you that she was divorced then go to bed. God will fight this battle for you and for Christ sake, man up and speak your mind to the husband, dont let him terrify you. He wants what? 200,000 cedis? He is crazy..
I think is a scam.. man up ..ahhh block them ,get a new number.. of course if truly you didn’t know she was married…I think they need money so they are treating to destroy someone’s son…
