On November 21st, 2023, at exactly 3:41am, I sent a message to Silent Beads. I was going through a lot and thought it was time for me to share my story. I told them, “I have a story to share but it’s too long I can’t write it. I prefer to narrate it so you write it down for me.”
They gave me a number to call but I never called them. I don’t know why I didn’t call. Maybe I was feeling lazy or I was too tired to relive the experience all over again through sharing my story. Since then, it has been a battle within myself either to share or not to share until I woke up one day to see Constante narrating her ordeal with Kwaku, the same man I married for six years and had two children with.
While it’s still not time for me to share my story, I would like to correct certain wrong assumptions Constante made while sharing her story.
When Kwaku was arrested that day, I was one of the people who went to see him in police custody. I saw Constante but I doubt if she saw me or if she can make me out. I was the one who got a lawyer for Kwaku. I was going through my own hell but I was still his wife so I did what every loving wife would do in that moment.
Constante made a statement in her video that unbeknownst to her, she was taking care of a grown man and his entire family. She put it this way, “I would buy him groceries, clothes, toiletries, I would give him money, he was using all of that to take care of his family.”
While that statement is not the true reflection of what happened, I wouldn’t blame her for making such an erroneous assumption. Kwaku never took care of me and my kids. I was the one taking care of him. The car he drove around, I bought it with my own money but I could count the number of times I sat in that car on my little fingers. I wouldn’t be surprised if Constante used the car more than I did.
I know his mother told her Kwaku married an unemployed woman. That’s funny because looking at the taste of Kwaku and the kind of woman he cheated with, do you think Kwaku will settle for a woman with nothing to her name? I was a full-time working woman who also had side jobs that fetched me money. The stories Kwaku told Constante to extract money from her, I was told the same stories. The worst of lies and the worst of carefully conceited fabrications that will make you dream of a better day while wallowing in pure pain in the present.
Kwaku never worked but he had calls from the UN asking for his services. He had calls from IT companies abroad seeking his services. He had done masters from prestigious universities around the globe. He had been here, there and back. He told me all that but I married him very young so even when friends saw through the lies, I wasn’t ready to listen to them. It’s not yet time for me to go into the details. The right time will come.
Divorcing him was an easy decision but very hard to carry out because I had to think about so many things especially what society would say, how my life would be afterwards, and how the future of my kids would turn out. Not that these things would be better with him in the picture but how I was going to manage it through turbulence but finally I decided to let go.
Let me tell you one funny but sad situation that happened not long ago. Our marriage is still in court. The divorce hasn’t been finalized but Kwaku is currently married. He scam the pastors and everyone involved to be able to marry again. When I heard he was getting married, I went there to witness it myself. Later he told people that our marriage wasn’t real because he didn’t sign our marriage certificate but rather thumb-printed it.
That was true. He thumb-printed instead of signing. Even though it doesn’t make our marriage invalid, it makes me believe that his intention for our marriage was not pure right from the beginning. In his mind, he was thumb-printing it to get away with it in the future. Again, he told them that the Catholic church we got married wasn’t gazetted. That’s also not true but in his mind, he was getting married to me in an ungazzetted church so he could wiggle his way out when the time comes.
All Four Side Chicks Have To Come Together To Cause His Arrest
He married my coursemate, a lady he had dated for three years. So this lady was in the shadows while the two of us were still married. While I was taking care of him and taking care of even his medical bills, he was going around cheating with all manner of women. Constante dated him for only eight months but she calls it Waltzing with the devil. I married him for six years. What would be the title of my story when I finally decide to write it? She waltzed but I’m not a waltzer. The right time will come.
Kwaku is a hero!
Ultimate selfishness and greed when some people decide to make others pay for livelyhood. Such people are sick and have psycholigical issues. It cannot be said enough – Stay away.
