It came to my notice when I was looking for one of the panties I usually use during my menstrual period. I combed through all the places that I thought it should be but I couldn’t find it. “Or I hung it in the drying line and I didn’t go for it?” I checked the lines and it wasn’t there.

Days later, I was looking for one particular panty because of the skirt I was wearing to work. Again, I searched everywhere and I couldn’t find it. “Ah, what’s happening? Is someone stealing my panties?”

I thought they steal from the drying line when I wash them so the next time when I washed, I counted my panties. When I was taking them off the drying line, I did a roll call. All colours were present.

A few days later, I was looking for a particular black thong pant and it wasn’t there. That was a new pant. I bought five of them and it was the only one I’d worn out of the five so I went to check on the rest and realized two of the new ones were gone.

I started getting scared. If I was living with another lady, I would have accused her of stealing my panties but I was living alone so who could it be and what reason would make anyone steal my panties?”

I got paranoid about the whole thing so I stopped wearing panties. I felt whoever was stealing them might have done something to the rest of them or maybe the person steals them, use it for whatever he/she wanted and brings them back.

I remember calling my boyfriend and reporting it to him. He was like, “Oh come off it. Who will steal your panties or you went to sleep with another guy and you left it there?” I said, “Stop joking about serious issues. Do I even wear one when I’m coming to you? This is a serious issue.”

To him, I was just imagining my problem but to me, it existed. One evening, I packed all my old panties in a poly bag, tied it and threw it under my bed. I was going to start afresh and monitor things well.

My boyfriend came to visit. He was working in another city so he came around once in a while. When he came, we talked about the missing panties again and I told them what I’d done to the old ones. “I’ve pushed them under the bed. I’m monitoring these new ones to see if they’ll also get missing.”

The morning he was leaving, I was in the bathroom when I remembered I’d left my gel in my drawer. I enter the room and saw my boyfriend sitting at the edge of the bed with the poly bag my panties were in and making selections. He had already folded two of them in his armpit and was tying the bag.

I was like “Young man, what are you doing?”

He was the one stealing my panties all this while. He visits and makes selections when leaving but the question was, “Why? what do you use them for?” He said, “I just use them when I miss you?” “How do you use them,” I asked. “Do you wear them?” He answered, “Don’t take it too far. It’s nothing deep. I miss you often and I want something of you closer that’s all.”

I’m sceptical about the whole thing. There are so many things of mine he could have picked. Why panties? We even do video calls often so why would he miss me and what’s the need for panties?

He thinks I’m making a molehill looks like a mountain and that I should let things go. I’m here asking if it’s normal. Boyfriend will steal your panties because he’ll miss you?
